Notorious criminal Frank Griffin…and his gang of outlaws are on a mission… — come HELL… or high water… they’re gonna get revenge on Roy Goode…
Who’s Roy Goode you ask… Welp… I’m glad you asked…
Roy Goode is a former protege.. who betrayed a well known gang of rough riders… He was found… and raised up by Frank Griffin himself…
-THEN- this happened… and that happened… and well it just didn’t end well…
Roy had to cut… and RUN!!! He tries to disappear in the isolated mining town La Belle, N.M.,
He seeks refuge on a ranch… just outside of town..with Alice Fletcher, a hardened widower and outcast.

“Alice” is portrayed by Michelle Dockery…
you know her.. as the privileged and snobby “Lady Mary Crawley” from Downton Abbey!!!!”
She’s just as pretty…as a frontier woman…(but in a more organic way)… and she’s much much edgier… NO TOUGH!!!
This is a western frontier woman who has gone through some brutal things FOR REAL… She’s been widowed TWICE…

Michelle Dockery has been a favorite actress of mine for some time….
Everybody knows I am a BIG FAN of Downton Abbey…my enthusiasm carries over to watching Michelle bring “Alice” to life…
She’s most definitely earned even more respect from me for her versatile acting chops.
I was absolutely thrilled to meet Michelle Dockery!!! She has a wonderful presence… and a very sweet spirit….
One more piece of info… about Dockery’s character on the “Godless” series…
“Alice” lives in seclusion on her ranch… with her Native American mother in law…
and young son named “Truckie”…
Alice is one to shoot first… and ask questions later.. She shot intruder, Jack O’Connell’s character..Roy Goode, when he appears on her property in the middle of the night…
It took some time for peace & trust to be achieved … but in the end… he earned his keep… and a safe place off the beaten path to LAY LOW…
Important detail:
The western town near Alice’s place is called La Belle…
it’s a shabby…sort of ghost town…run by women!
Only a few elderly.. or broken men are left… There are children.. and a few young fellas…
All the men… the husbands.. and fathers of the WOMEN of LaBelle… died on the same day..in a mining accident…on the land…
Strong willed… and determined to carry on… these ladies pull themselves up by their 👢 boot straps… and carry on…
A few have completely ditched their dresses… to get suited and booted in their husbands old clothes…
Now these women have had to deal with a few shady characters… but there’s always a greater force… waiting in the cut to help them through challenges… JUST IN THE NIICK OF TIME!!!!
That being said….nothing was more disturbing… than the news of Frank Griffin and his wild bunch coming to town… mad as HELL!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Uhhhh huh! They were getting more agitated & aggressive by the mile….
Whenever you hear that galloping… and see a dirt cloud rising… that’s BIG TROUBLE!!!!!
How can one lonely cowboy fuel so much hatred??? Perhaps because he was faster… and smarter!
It’s a shame… so many had to pay the ultimate sacrifice because of that HATE…..
whew! It’s BAD y’all… real bad….
I don’t think Western fans have seen the likes of a villain like Frank Griffin…
This role is masterfully played by Jeff Daniels….
After watching a few episodes… the hair will stand up on your neck… every time he appears… What is this demon gonna do know… you’ll wonder…
#sucks teeth… and rolls eyes…. 👀 #SOB‼️
Daniels -shocking- portrayal of one of the worst villains in the history of westerns.. has earned him an EMMY nomination for outstanding-supporting-actor-limited-series-or-movie
When this dude rides up… on a horse…He has a straight face… and calm demeanor… He even wears a preacher’s collar.

how in the world… does he get ALL these strange characters to follow his lead… and carry out his terror filled missions…

Like I said… I ain’t NEVA seen nothing like this…and YOU will get tied up in all the DRAMA too… just keep watching… The intensity increases as you learn more about the characters… and ride along on this stressful journey…
As the clock ticks on…
Word gets to town…that Griffin is headed for LaBelle…. He knows his declared Enemy is hiding around there..
An unfortunate situation leaves the women unable to run for the hills… and so the ladies of LaBelle have NO choice.. but to buck up.. and defend themselves against Griffin and his murderous gang…
I watched every moment of this Netflix original in pure AMAZEMENT!!!
The ultimate GUN FIGHT… is the SHOW DOWN of the century!!!!
Make sure you watch every single episode… because this finale is brutal to the final shot…….

Director Dee Rees, ( Director of Emmy Award winning “Bessie” and “Mudbound” has gone through great lengths to make sure you feel all the pain… 
This woman put her heart & soul into this film…Rees also recognizes the importance of working with other women on Productions. She said: “I want to be a woman who is giving other women jobs and trying to change things. 👉🏽 So peep this! Rees embraced a team of women in the production of MUDBOUND, including cinematographer Rachel Morrison, (hopefully the first woman DP to be nominated for an Oscar), editor Mako Kamitsuna; composer Tamar-Kali; music editor Nancy Allen; and department heads that include make-up, costume and wardrobe, and post production. #Yay!!!! 🙌🏽 
Rees also went over and beyond the call of duty to do extensive research on the time period … She made sure her cast members bonded, and had a realistic understanding of their characters… and the relationships they shared.
If you aren’t touched by this movie… in some sort of way…… you.don’t.have.a.heart. ❤️
***Piece of advice*** pay close attention to details… actions… and every little thing that happens in the beginning… 
Mudbound is an epic drama..of two families…(one black… & one white)…set in the Deep South..after WWII…
Buck up! There are several tense moments in this film. Social hierarchy challenges…Jim Crow segregation…hardcore racism……and everyday hardships… 
Yeah…. this is why Great Grandma, MeMaw, PopPop, Unc-Unc… and “nem” were so strong! 
These were hardworking… good Christian folks… who just couldn’t seem to catch a break!
Well…….actually…..something does break… and break again… making things even worse! 😥
The film… based on a book by American author Hilliary Jordan…clearly demonstrates how God will make a way… out of no way! 🙏🏽
Battles are fought at home and abroad….and the aftermath for soldiers returning home from the war is grim..
Through it all.. this film is about friendship, heritage and the unending struggle against the land… and harsh weather conditions. 
Newly transplanted from a quiet life in Memphis, the McAllan family is underprepared and overly hopeful for Henry’s (Jason Clarke) big farming dreams. Laura (Carey Mulligan) struggles to keep the faith in her husband’s losing venture… while trying to create and maintain a civilized environment for her family…

anyway… his character…is MaryJ’s characters ..oldest son). This brotha is going through a second Hell.. after coming home from the first one during the war..
His character, (Ronsel), experiences some gut wretching situations… and serious abuse that will not get into….but I will share this: 
It took an emotional toll on everyone involved..including those working behind the scenes..Jason says he was ALL IN and sacrificed everything he had…to make sure scenes were done RIGHT… to accurately tell this story… and reflect what was needed to evoke emotion… and reflect a hardcore truth… of situations that have actually happened in history…
This is a superb drama! The performances will leave you speechless. 🤔 Think: films sounder…meets tv show the Walton’s… meets the color purple… roots… with a dash of “miss Jane pitman” taken up several notches…
The film “Detroit” is based on the

Director Kathryn Bigelow keeps the pressure cooker going…and going…oenticing you… to NOT look away… or you’ll miss some important detail.
